Interacting with the mentors was enlightening because we came to know about industry standards, requirements and got an idea about the kind of expectations an entrepreneur or an investor will have for a product. They also enlightened us on how to potentially scale up our product into a business. 4 sleepless nights and 5 tiresome days proved worthy at the end, we bagged the second prize. This marked the beginning of a long and tough journey for us. The experience and network we built in those 5 days proved very useful. Finally, all this would have not been possible without such a hardworking and fun filled team. These memories will be etched in our hearts forever.”

Team Name: The Spearheads – Software Edition 2019

Team Leader: Leena Bhandari

College: Sinhgad institute of technology and science

Problem Statement: “Package optimization simulator”

Organization: Thermax

“Our experience with Smart India Hackathon has been phenomenal. It made us think and put our problem-solving capabilities to a good use. We learnt a lot during building the project. We built a simulator for optimizing package design from scratch during the 36hrs time. We worked on and learnt various technologies during the process. Teamwork is what truly helps if you want to go far. Mentors gave us a good insight about what the industry experts were expecting exactly, also, SIH gave us the confidence that we could achieve whatever we want by just putting our sole focus to it. After our team's victory, our college motivated the juniors to participate in such events, where a student can apply what they learn in academics to solve industry level problems. It encouraged us to think and work hard towards achieving something greater. Lastly, I'm very glad Government of India and AICTE came up with this concept and I would encourage every student to participate in SIH and keep learning.”
